One man's musical mission
Dustin began playing the trumpet at the age of ten. He started learning jazz in middle school and later decided that high school marching band was not for him. Although he majored in Biology and German, Dustin played in his University's Jazz Ensemble during his freshman year. His grandfather was, and mother is, also professional trumpet players.
Upon graduating college Dustin moved to Aspen, Colorado. He jammed now and then with different musicians, and eventually started playing gigs with various local bands. Soon he was headlining all the major Oktoberfest parties in Colorado with "Those Austrian Guys" and playing frequent rock & roll shows with local legend "Stevie Lizard".
Dustin's big break as a solo artist came in February 2018 when he was offered a residency at the Red Onion in Aspen, playing a one-man jazz show every Wednesday night for the next two years. This gig sharply honed his skills at music production and performance dynamics, and it was damn fun to belt out some classic jazz in a rowdy bar scene.
Today Dustin is lucky to be involved in many musical projects, ranging from polka to rock and from reggae to funk. He studies multiple genres and styles, and never stops learning and composing new songs. He's proving that a trumpet can fit in just about anywhere, and having a blast sharing his unique sound with the world.
Entertain Aspen LLC was founded in the Summer of 2021 as a music production company and booking agent for all the groups that Dustin is involved with. This is the central hub to find the act you need for your event! Dustin has performed in theaters and bars, on lawns and on the street, in the living rooms of mansions and over livestreams from his bedroom. No venue or audience is too big or too small. His mission is to share his music and provide entertainment to the people of Aspen and beyond.
